Gay And Lesbian Alliance (GALA) of the Central Coast
Minutes of the Special Board of Directors Meeting held at the home of the President, Robert Kinports,
1816 Spooner Drive, San Luis Obispo, California, on Saturday, January 28, 2006.

PRESENT: Robert Kinports (Presiding), Clayton Marsh (Recording), Diana Ferraro, Cal Garcia, Ruben
Garcia III, Pat Harris, Ethel Landers, Anthony Parra, Don Reynolds, Gina Whitaker

ABSENT: Stuart Clyde, Kerry Deal, Tracy Tabin, Bill Tomasini

GUESTS: Janna Nichols, Lorelei Monet

12:25 PM: Meeting called to order by President, Robert Kinports.

1.] Issue: News & Reviews -- Robert announced that Greg has decided not to leave the area yet, and that he will continue to work on layout and publishing while Eveline has agreed to work as Editor.

2.] Issue: SLO Film Festival - March 7-11, 2006 -- Robert introduced the opportunity for GALA’s participation as a sponsor of the SLO Film Festival for $500.00. He also said that we should publicize it in News & Reviews, and that he would contact Robin Covey about the possibility of a reception at Novo to honor it. Diana moved and Gina seconded the motion to do so. Motion carried unanimously.

3.] Issue: Mardi Gras Dance - February 25, 2006 -- Robert stated that, since the next issue (March/April) of News & Reviews would not be mailed until after the event, a mid-cycle mailing would be necessary to give the Mardi Gras Dance adequate publicity. Janna suggested that both the dance and the film festival could be advertised in the same mailing. It was decided that would not be necessary since the next issue of News & Reviews would be published before the film festival. Ruben moved and Cal seconded the motion to spend up to $300.00 for the mailing. Motion carried unanimously.
